You don’t normally expect to find the words luxury, chic, boutique and family friendly mentioned in the same sentence when describing  a hotel, but all of this is a perfect description of the Elms Hotel.  Equally you don't expect on entering one of the most luxurious converted Queen Anne mansions in the country to be greeted by 'Tickle' the dog and 'George' the cat in a lobby scattered  with a selection of children’s playthings alongside a selection of wellies neatly lined up ready to go when the kids are ready to explore the beautiful landscaped gardens and ten acres of parkland.  There’s no period furniture too special  for the children to leave their sticky prints on, no ‘Don’t Touch’ or ‘Keep Off’ signs and no staff waiting to pounce on boisterous young guests.  Grand, yet low-key, this luxury  hotel offers the perfect family retreat along with plenty to keep all the family happy and at ease.

Part of the 'Luxury Family Hotel' collection, this magnificent Queen Anne Mansion has been completely refurbished with families in mind including interconnecting bedrooms, a state-of-the-art baby listening service, and an Ofsted registered   Bears Den.  The house, built in 1710 by architect William Gilbert, a pupil of Sir Christopher Wren and the man behind the guildhall in nearby Worcester, has generous reception rooms with high ceilings and beautiful cornicing throughout. Period furniture   and ornate wallpapers combine with large blackened fireplaces and flagstones to create feeling less of a hotel and more of an enormous family house.  There is a huge emphasis on having family fun here which makes for a superbly relaxed family holiday   - be it a luxurious one. Every facility imaginable is available to keep the children happy and entertained and the adults relaxed and pampered.

The Elms has a great choice of beautiful rooms for all budgets and family sizes. Each of the hotel's en-suite  bedrooms has its own character and provides magnificent views across the landscaped gardens.  All are spacious, delightfully furnished with period antiques and have every modern facility, albeit a little over generous with the scatter cushions that make  for tempting missiles during an infantile disagreement!   The Classic Double Room – the perfect choice for one with spacious double or twin beds, flat screen TVs, DVD players and digital radios as well as WiFi. The Executive  Double Room is able to accommodate families of four whilst the Deluxe Double Room offers the maximum space and comfort for the entire family within one room with a family sitting King size double bed, and room for up to 3 additional children. The  Suites are largest 2 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and large separate sitting room. interconnecting rooms at The Elms offer families the privacy and convenience of 2 separate rooms allowing parents to have some grown up space.  For families  and young children, The Elms can provide additional z-beds and cots. Children sharing with parents are free of charge, with children’s meals charged as extra.  Children's High Tea is served daily in the Pear Terrace at 5pm.

When staying at The Elms, you're never short of things to do. Supervised fun and games for the youngsters in The Den include  painting, cooking, face-painting, hand and leaf painting, flower pot painting, glass painting, cress heads, masks, calendars, card and puppet making, Halloween party games, Easter egg hunts and so much more. Always stocked with all sorts of toys and activities,  The Den is heaven for younger children. For older children, there’s an air hockey machine, tabletop football, board games and an Xbox.   Outside, there’s children's croquet, outdoor table tennis, football nets and a trampoline, as well as  a spectacular outdoor adventure playground.   Parents can relax in the spa, curl up on the sofa with a good book or enjoy one of the many treatments on offer in the spa whilst children enjoy supervised fun and games in The Den. If you can drag the children  away there are loads of interesting places to visit nearby, including the Teme Valley, the Malvern Hills and the Cotswolds for gorgeous walks or specifically for families there’s Cadbury's World, the Severn Valley Railway and the West Midland Safari  Park in Bewdley, just 15 minutes up the road.

The hotel states on their website, "The Elms today provides families with stylish and desirable family breaks through a unique combination of superb ofsted registered childcare, great family facilities, delicious food and wine, a beautiful Spa and understated  yet attentive service in a seductive and luxurious setting" and this perfectly describes the wonderful Elms Hotel in a nutshell.
